Sanctuary church of La Mare de Déu del Remei
A neo-mediaeval church and Marian sanctuary dating from the late 19th century, this was restored a few years ago. It is topped by a slim polygonal steeple and features some attractive sgraffito decoration, and replaced a former chapel where pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela on St. James’ Way stopped. A polychrome statue of the Verge del Remei (Our Lady of Good Remedy). The church is Historicist in style, with a Florentine influence. The large polygonal drum topped with a stylised pyramidal roof stands out. Its hilltop position makes it a good viewpoint overlooking the plain in the Cerdanya area.
